Ear Candling

This technique is said to be an ancient practice originating in Egypt, this method of cleaning the ears was used for both spiritual cleansing as well as physical cleansing.

Ear candling is a holistic technique used to remove wax from the ear. The procedure consists of taking a hollow candle and placing the unlit end into the ear canal just far enough to establish a seal. The outer end is lit, consuming all air form the auditory canal, thus creating a vacuum seal which forces the impacted wax and any other debris to soften and move to the bottom of the candle.
